Starting Family Tree Search Can Be Free



Would you like to discover information about your ancestry?

If so, there are a number of great sources online, which can help you research your family history.

If you are just curious and want to dig a little for some family history without costing you any money, then the place to go is Google.

Google is a wonderful free source of information that we tend to forget about. It is easy to use and will start you in the right direction

Just begin your Google search by entering the name of a great grandparent or a grandparent if that is as much information you currently have.
Be prepared for thousands of names to come up, and most of the names will be of people who you are not related to.

But that is okay, because now you can really start to narrow your field of interest.

Another great Google Tool, which is free that you can use for your research is the Advanced Search Tool.

While you are on your Google search page, go to the Advanced Search button. You will find this button just to the right of the main search box on Google.

Now you have the option of entering specific details you may have on your grandparents. With the Advanced Search option, you can tell Google what you are and are not interested in.

With Google Advanced Search, you are even able to narrow your search results by dates, and many times even the region.

With this free search, tool you maybe able to narrow the search of your family tree down to a workable number of 100 names or even less.

Starting with just this alone you can learn more information about your ancestry and get specific details that will help you continue on to a more advanced family history search.
